The MIPS Program Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Quality Payment Program. This includes both Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) across all categories and Alternative Payment Model. The Manager will be achievement oriented as this role focuses on analyzing performance data, driving improvement compared to CMS benchmarks, and educating field teams on MIPS requirements to ensure success across the organization. The Manager will research guidelines and stay current on changes in requirements, taking initiative to develop the MIPS program and oversee operational progress through attestation of all organizational objectives.

 

Reports to: VP of Revenue Cycle Management, with direction from the MIPS Committee (including Chief Compliance Officer and Operations Leadership Team)

Responsibilities

  • Identify areas of opportunity by measure, provider, and/or billing group based on data analysis across all MIPS categories.
  • Educate field teams and other internal stakeholders on MIPS requirements, including proper documentation and compliance standards.
  • Facilitate and lead regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss progress in each MIPS category, next steps, and track overall project performance.
  • Ensure timely submission of MIPS data and compliance with CMS requirements in all categories (Quality, Cost, Promoting Interoperability, and Improvement Activities).
  • Collaborate with IT and EHR subject matter experts to address technical needs and reporting requirements for MIPS.
  • Maintain and manage data across platforms such as Verana Health, NextGen HQM, Smartsheets, and MS SharePoint.
  • Review and analyze data for MIPS measures to project draft scores.
  • Communicate progress and updates to the MIPS Committee and Operations leadership, providing insights and action plans.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, including field teams, and drive initiatives to completion.
  • Excellent communication and educational skills to inform and guide field teams and internal stakeholders on MIPS requirements and documentation standards.
  • Thorough understanding of all MIPS categories: Quality, Cost, Promoting Interoperability, and Improvement Activities.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail in managing multiple initiatives and deadlines.
  • Experience with Verana Health dashboards, NextGen HQM portal, Smartsheets, and MS SharePoint is preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare quality measures, specifically MIPS, and the ability to educate others on these topics.

Success Metrics:

  • Improved MIPS scores across all categories: Quality, Promoting Interoperability, Improvement Activities and Cost.
  • Timely and accurate filing of MIPS data in each category.
  • Effective education of field teams on MIPS requirements and proper documentation.
  • Successful development and management of the overall MIPS program, driving continuous improvement in compliance and quality measures.
