Overview

NVISION® Hines Eye & Laser is seeking an Optometrist for our expanding multi-site surgical practice.  Our Optometrists play a valuable role and we’re looking for a dynamic individual who is ready to grow with us. This is an exciting opportunity for an optometrist to work in an established ophthalmology practice with a passion for refractive and cataract surgery. The successful candidate will have the chance to work with highly experienced professionals in the surgery space. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • In collaboration with our Ophthalmologists, ensures the best patient care for all surgical patients. 
  • Work with the technicians to improve efficiencies in testing and patient work up, in addition to ensuring accurate patient refractions. 
  • Follows the clinical standards of care for the center, including, but not limited to: operating practices and procedure, incident tracking/reporting, quality maintenance, surgical protocol, updating medication protocol, patient, and occupational health and safety. 
  • Interacts with clinic and surgeon to ensure full communication between the surgeon and the staff in areas of surgical protocol, patient management and medication schedule. 
  • Performs pre and post-operative care for patients at center and assists surgeons with pre and post-operative care should complications arise. 
  • Follows-up with co-managing/referring doctors regarding patient status and results. 
  • Defines and reports any clinical incidents as necessary. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Optometrist in the state of California
  • Cataract and LASIK experience, preferred
  • Desire to be an integral part in providing an exceptional patient experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred but not required
